Best Husky Tool Deals

Husky tools are great, especially their hand tools. (I don’t mean chisels and hand planes, we’re talking wrenches and screw drivers…)

They are quality tools you can find at a great price, but the best thing about Husky is their lifetime warranty. If a Husky tool you purchased breaks, just bring it back to The Home Depot and they will replace it for free. No questions asked. That’s pretty amazing.

One of the best Husky Deals is their 270 piece Mechanics Tool Set.

Husky Mechanics Tool Set

After purchasing this set you will never need to buy another ratchet, socket or wrench ever again… It has 4 Ratchets & Drivers, 4 Extensions and Adapters, 148 Sockets, 14 Wrenches, 40 Hex Keys, 12 Nutsetters and 48 Bits for a total of 270 pieces!

The Sockets, Wrenches and Hex Keys come in both SAE and Metric sizes so you will always have the right tool for the job.

Husky Hand Tools

The set comes with three fully polished ratchets in 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” drive, each having 72 teeth, which means they only need a 5 arc swing to turn the fasteners. In other words, these ratchets are great for working in tight spaces because you don’t have to turn them too much before the mechanism catches the next tooth.

Husky Mechanics Tool Set

One of my favorite features on these ratchets is the quick release button which allows you to quickly change out the sockets. I have used ratchets without a quick release button, now I can never go back….

Not only are these ratchets solidly build and comfortable to hold, the sockets and wrenches are top notch quality too. These sockets prevent any rounding of fasteners because they are designed to not put pressure on the corners. I’ve rounded a few corners on some bolts before, it’s never fun trying to get a rounded bolt out of anything…

Quite possibly my favorite thing about this set is how organized it is. Each piece has large, hard-stamped size markings and the plastic storage case has matching size markings so you know exactly where each piece belongs.

So the next time you need a 3/8 in. Drive 7/16 in. Standard 12-Point Socket you will know exactly where it is… (as long as you remember to put it away.)

If you don’t need 148 sockets, another great option from Husky is their 7pc Dual Direction Extraction Socket Set (SAE).

Remember those rounded bolts I mentioned earlier? This socket set is the solution to that problem. No more whipping out the vise grips!

These sockets were specially designed so you can easily remove damaged, rusted and stuck on bolts.

Husky Socket Set

This set includes 5 SAE extraction sockets (1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”, 7/16” and 1/2”) and 2 impact adapters (1/4” and 3/8”) so you can put this right in your impact driver and remove any bolt that’s stuck.

Husky Socket Set

When looking at the inside of the socket you can see a really unique design. The first thing I noticed is the tapered throat. This does two things, it allows for easy placement onto a bolt and ensures the bolt will not get stuck in the socket after removal.

The sockets also have a patented design that allows them to grip in both the left hand (Removal) and right hand (Installation) directions, this is pretty cool because that means the socket can also grip and install a damaged bolt if you need to.

While we’re on the topic of Husky innovation, check out this extendable square.

At first glance, it looks like a regular 6” square, but when you take a closer look, you can see an extension arm that turns this 6” square into a 12” square! Magic!

Husky Extendable Square

This is a brilliant idea and design. The square takes up less space when storing it away, but it’s just as handy as a larger square. In theory it would eliminate the need of having to carry both a 6” and 12” square.

While I love the ingenuity here, there are some minor flaws with this square…

Husky Framing Square

The biggest concern for me is when the extension arm is out, the square can only be used in one direction.

You can see in the picture below that the hinge for the barrel is facing up so the square is laying flat. If I were to flip the square so the barrel of the hinge is facing down, the edge of the square would not be able to lay flat.

I’m not sure how important this is to roofers and framers, but for a woodworker, the inaccuracy there would bother me a bit so I would use this strictly for making rough marks in the milling process.

Another thing I don’t love about the extension arm is the way you open it. It locks into place with ball bearings, which is pretty sweet, but it’s a little difficult to open it again. I had to push it open through a little slot in the square and I just didn’t find it to be a smooth movement.

Moving on to some storage solutions!

If you travel with your tools or equipment and need a way to safely transport some of you delicate items, this Plastic Tool Box is perfect.

It has a pick and pull foam insert so you can fully customize this storage box for whatever you need.

In the picture below, I put some tools inside, bit I am actually going to use this to store my camera so I can safely travel with it.

Husky Plastic Tool Box

Since this case is watertight is needs a purge valve. A purge valve is important on watertight cases because the atmospheric pressure at different altitudes, (like on an airplane) will cause the pressure inside of the case to be different than the outside. This causes a vacuum & will prevent the case from opening.

So this case comes with an adjustable pressure relief valve to equalize pressure and allow for easy opening at any altitude.

Maybe you don’t do much air travel for work, but you drive around to different sites, the Husky Pro Mobile Office is a pretty smart solution. It’s basically a filing cabinet you can travel with that has room for tools, drinks, snacks and anything else you might need on the go.

It’s designed to be belted into your passenger seat, essentially turning your car into your office!

Not only does it store every thing you need while traveling from job site to job site, the top can be used as a desk! The lid is strong and sturdy with a raised edge to prevent anything from falling off. I think this is a pretty smart solution for contractors on the go.

Husky Mobile Office

The Mobile Office is really well constructed with roomy, sturdy pockets and all your belongings can be locked away by adding a lock on the two zippers.

If your car is your office, this Mobile Office is a must have.

Last but not least some storage for your home shop.

If you’re in need for some storage and organization in your home shop, look no further than the Husky 46” x 24.5” 9-Drawer Mobile Workbench.

Husky Mobile Workbench

This workbench arrives to your home almost fully assembled. All you need to do is attach the casters, handle and cord hooks. It took me maybe 10 minutes to do that and the workbench is ready to be filled!

Husky Mobile Workbench

The best feature of this workbench is the on board power strip. Simply plug the cord that comes with the bench into your outlet, then you can plug your tools directly into the bench. It even has USB chargers!

Husky Mobile Workbench

This workbench has an insane amount of storage.

The top is a full-width drawer at 41.74” W x 21.8” D x 3.85” H

Then there are 4 drawers at 19.69” W x 21.8” D x 2.79” H

The 3rd row of drawers are a bit higher at 19.69” W x 21.8” D x 3.85” H

And the bottom has 2 drawers that are crazy big at 19.69”W x 21.8” D x 9.1”H

The picture below is the bottom drawer, it’s holding 2 circular saws, 1 mini circular saw, an angle grinder, a couple recip saws, maybe a dremel or two and there is still room for more.

Husky Mobile Workbench

I have had this mobile workbench for over a year now and I think it’s a great storage solution for any home shop.

Husky tools are well made and affordable, you will use these tools for years to come. When is comes to making decisions on purchasing hand tools or storage solutions like this, it’s hard to ignore that lifetime warranty. It just makes sense to purchase Husky tools since you will only have to pay once, even if it breaks. The an old adage “buy once, cry once” doesn’t apply here. With Husky tools, you will buy once and there will be no crying involved.
